An llms.txt for your site, built from its own pages
llms.txt is a short Markdown file at the root of a site that gives AI assistants a clean map: what the site is and which pages matter, with a line on each. Your AI builds it from your sitemap and your pages' own titles and descriptions, puts your best pages first, and leaves out what should not be there.

How your AI does it
- STEP 1
Ask your AI
"Write an llms.txt for example.com." With Search Console connected it puts your pages with the most clicks first.
- STEP 2
It reads your site
llms_txt takes the pages from your sitemap (one language, shallowest first) or your home page's links, and fetches each for its title and description. Pages that are noindex, broken or canonical to another address are left out.
- STEP 3
You review it
Your AI shows the file grouped by section, suggests what to add or drop, and tells you if the site already has one.
- STEP 4
It goes live
On a server plan your AI saves it as llms.txt in the site's web root, inside a change window you opened. Otherwise you upload it.
What the file holds
- The site's name and a one-line summary
- Key pages as links with one-line descriptions
- Pages grouped by section
- Your top pages by clicks first, when Search Console is connected
- Only indexable pages that answer 200 and are their own canonical
- One language on a multi-language site

Questions
Do AI assistants read llms.txt?
Some tools and crawlers read it, and it costs nothing to have. It is not a ranking factor in Google. Your AI can also check with robots_check whether GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot may crawl your site.
Does it change my site?
llms_txt only builds the file. Putting it on the site is a separate step that needs a server plan and a change window you opened, or you upload it yourself.
How do I know AI assistants send visitors?
On Pro, Agency and the SEO plans, ga4_ai_traffic shows the visits from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Copilot, and the pages they land on.
