Connect Claude Code, ChatGPT or Cursor to your server over MCP

The same sign-in works in every client that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth.

Claude Code

In a terminal:

Then start claude, run /mcp, pick askyourstack and choose Authenticate: an AskYourStack page opens, sign in and press Allow.

claude mcp add --transport http askyourstack https://askyourstack.com/mcp

Cursor

In Cursor Settings, Tools & MCP, New MCP server, add this to mcp.json, save, and press Needs login next to askyourstack:

{ "mcpServers": { "sudowhizzy": { "url": "https://askyourstack.com/mcp" } } }

ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings, Apps & Connectors, Advanced settings, and turn on Developer mode.
  2. Back in Apps & Connectors, press Create, name it AskYourStack, paste https://askyourstack.com/mcp and choose OAuth under Authentication.
  3. Press Create, sign in on the AskYourStack page and press Allow. In a chat, pick AskYourStack from the + menu.

Using several clients

Each client gets its own connection, listed under Security in the Dashboard, where any one of them can be ended without touching the others. Clients that cannot sign in (Windsurf, Codex) use the private address from the Dashboard's Step 3 instead; if you make a new address there, update it in those clients: the old one stops working at once.

Try it on your own server

Free connects one server in read-only mode: your AI can look, read logs and explain what is wrong.
